![]() Well, guess what, Microsoft To Do is a replacement for Outlook Tasks now! Remember how ancient Task experience was with Outlook Tasks? Using an analogy of OneDrive and SharePoint, where OneDrive is personal storage space in the cloud, while SharePoint is a team collaboration tool, To Do is a personal task management tool, unlike Planner. Unlike Planner, which is a TEAM task management tool, To Do is strictly an app that is accessible just by the user (unless you share your tasks/lists with others). It is part of an Office 365 suite, so that means that it is accessible, just like the rest of Office 365 apps in the cloud ( read: from any device with an internet connection). Microsoft To Do is a cloud-based personal task management tool. That changed though with the introduction of Microsoft To Do. Up until recently, there was no good option to manage individual tasks in SharePoint and Office 365. It doesn’t have suitable features for enterprise task management and team collaboration.Whether you need to buy a bottle of milk on the way home or complete the project proposal at work, our life consists of tasks. We think To Do is best for managing personal schedules. ![]() But, you won’t enjoy as many features as you’ll get in a full-fledged task management app. If you need a simple task management app you don’t need to pay a dime for, To Do is a perfect choice. But, it’s completely free, while the rivals are freemium or strictly paid apps. To Do doesn’t have as many task management features as you’ll see in these competing apps. They include popular ones such as Todoist and TickTick. There are countless task management apps rivaling To Do. In such a case, you can contact Microsoft’s support team directly through live chat. You may not be satisfied with the information on the FAQ page. This page is easily accessible on the web interface or desktop or mobile app. If you encounter any challenges with the To Do app, the first place to consult is the FAQ page, which contains solutions to commonly experienced problems. (Image credit: Microsoft) Microsoft To Do: Support There’s not much you can do with the app apart from creating and sorting tasks, so you shouldn’t have any problem figuring it out. The To Do app has a minimal, uncluttered interface. The app has limited third-party integration, which we consider a disadvantage. ![]() The best thing you can do now is flag an email in Microsoft Outlook to have it show up as a task on the To Do app. Though Microsoft has promised to integrate the To Do app with its other apps, it hasn’t delivered much. There's no view-only mode on To Do, which we consider a drawback. But, they must have a Microsoft account to access it. ![]() You can invite people to join any task list through an invitation email or a direct link. The To Do app supports collaboration to some extent. For example, on Todoist, a popular to-do-list app, you can group multiple tasks under one umbrella to help you stay focused. The To Do app’s sorting feature is helpful for organizing tasks, but not as good as a grouping feature, which the app lacks.
